How it works
- Confirm you are a Studentlund member
Upload a photo of your STUK card and we read it straight away.
- Tell us what goes on the card
Your name, nationality, date of birth and a photo — they are printed on your ESNcard. Everything else stays private.
- Pay 149 kr
Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Swish. Member prices are on your account at once, and your ESNcard is on My ESN as soon as its number is yours.
Then two quick errands: activate your card at esncard.org for the European discounts, and pick up the plastic card at the office.
149 kr covers one or two semesters — up to the last one you are in Lund — and the ESNcard is valid for twelve months. Membership ended? The same button renews it.
Who can join
Every international student in Lund with a Studentlund membership — exchange, Master’s, PhD, interns and trainees — plus ESN volunteers and alumni, and Lund University’s international mentors and student ambassadors.
Swedish students going on exchange get their card from the ESN section in their host country instead. Special cases and the full rules.

Questions about membership
I’m a student at another university, can I join?
Yes! Provided that you are a member of Studentlund. Students from the following universities can become members of Studentlund:
Copenhagen Business School
Kristianstad University
Malmö University
Roskilde University
Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences
Technical University of Denmark
The Royal Danish Academy – Architecture
University of Copenhagen
I’m not a Studentlund member, could I still join?
If you are ineligible for Studentlund membership, you may join by obtaining special membership in the Academic Society (Akademiska föreningen).
Register and pay the membership fee. Then show the proof of payment when you come to the office. Membership in the Academic Society either through Studentlund or by special membership is necessary.
I'm a Swedish student, can I join?
Yes. However, because ESNcard eligibility is regulated by ESN International guidelines, domestic/non-exchange students must meet at least one of the following conditions:
Active Section Member / Volunteer:
You are an active volunteer, coordinator, committee member, or board member in the local section. Local students who join the organization to help plan and run activities are entitled to full section membership and an ESNcard.
Buddy or Mentor:
You are officially registered as a buddy/mentor to incoming international students within the university’s or section’s mentor programme for the current semester.
Outgoing Exchange Student:
You are accepted into or currently completing a recognized exchange/mobility programme (e.g., Erasmus+, bilateral university exchange). Note: Outgoing Swedish students are usually expected to acquire their card from the local section at their host destination.
European Solidarity Corps (ESC) / Trainee:
You are participating in an ESC placement, international internship, or recognized volunteering mobility project.
